In this world of fast fashion, have you ever wondered exactly how to make your own bespoke clothing? Clothing that fits. Clothing that moves with you and feels amazing, made with organic cloth or reused old fabric? In this extra-ordinary 6-day workshop lead by Laura Akins, a sustainable fashion designer with her own beautifully curated brand A-KINS, you will learn the basics of clothing design and tailoring.
This is an introduction to design and pattern alteration, sustainable ways of sewing and construction that will lead the way from a few yards of organic fabric into either pants, shorts, or a skirt. The pattern you make and the skills you learn, will allow you to continue to create with endless possibilities once at home.
The last day of the workshop will be an introduction to indigo dying with Beth Van De Water.
Local hikes and cultural activities are scheduled as well.

“Never feeling like the right size or shape because most clothing is fit to a standard fit model. I wanted to create a brand that would be inclusive of all shapes and sizes. Products that you could invest in, that were durable and that you could keep as your body changes throughout the seasons of your life.”
